Neil Armstrong Got It Wrong

It’s one of the most famous lines in history.

"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

But Neil Armstrong made a mistake. He forgot a word. He meant to say:

"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

Armstrong later wrote:

"There must be an 'a', I rehearsed it that way. I meant it that way. And I'm sure I said it that way."

When he heard the recording, he sighed and said,

"Damn, I really did it. I blew the first words on the moon, didn't I?"

No Neil, you didn't. But you did demonstrate an important lesson.

Remember it whenever you accidentally publish a typo or fluff a presentation.

Most of the time, no one will even notice.
